Formulas & assumptions
- Balance(m) = Balance(m−1) + Inflows received(m) − Outflows(m) − One-off payment if in month m
- Inflows are assumed to arrive evenly through the month; a delay of D days shifts receipts by D ÷ 30 months.
- Amounts due before the projection starts are assumed already collected, so a delay reduces early months only.
- Monthly figures are held constant; seasonality is not modelled.
- Scenario % changes apply to every month.
What to check next
- Compare the starting figure with your actual bank balances.
- Replace averages with dated expected payments from receivables and payables.
- Add known irregular items: tax, insurance renewals, annual subscriptions, loan repayments.
